News, Announcements, Upcoming and Recurring Events
   Hurricane Matthew Relief Funds. You may place your gift in the offering plate any Sunday, or send a check to the Church labeled "Hurricane Matthew Relief Fund".

   Explorer's Bible study meets at the church every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nursery care is provided. Mary Cates is the teaching leader. Women of all faiths are invited to attend. The study for this year is Paul's letter to the Romans.

   Ray Rasmussen died on October 7th, 2016. He helped to build and assisted in many projects at First Baptist Church. Graveside services were held October 14th the Bountiful City Cemetery. We extend our heartfelt prayer of support to the family and friends. May he rest in peace. We say thanks to Ray and Cora for all their many contributions through the years.

   Mitsuo Morishita. An open house was held by Betty, Debbie and Aaron in celebration of the life and death of "Mits" on October 15th. Family and friends gathered to give thanks for the many memories and his long life. Thanks to the Morishitas for the wonderful food which all enjoyed. May he rest in peace.

   The memorial service for Shirley Walton was held on Saturday, September 3 2016. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1982. Shirley "did it all" as a member of the church. Serving as a trustee, teacher, choir member, diaconate, et cetera. She has been missed since moving to Welcome Home about 6 years ago. Rest in Peace Shirley, and thanks from all of us.

   Tuesday, November 1 is All Saints' Day.
   Daylight savings time ends on Sunday, November 6.
   Sunday, November 13 is Stewardship Sunday. We will be raising funds for our 2017 budget.

   November 27 is the first Sunday of Advent.

   Every Wednesday, 8 p.m.: AA meeting
   Every Thursday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Explorer's Bible Study (Letter to the Romans)
   Thursday, October 27, 7 p.m.: American Baptist Women (ABW)

  John Banner is home following thoracic surgery. Hopefully he can soon return to work. Continued prayers for his healing.

   Prayers for Peace As America enters the final weeks of a contentious presidential election season, American Baptists are invited to pray with American Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) on Tuesdays through Election Day on Nov. 8.
